The Great Pub and Mobile Adventure

City University
This morning I woke up early so that I could go to City University with everyone for orientation. It took us about 45 minutes(two subway trains and a 15 minute walk) to get there. it was not actually that bad, i got t down quite easily and I found someone else in FYSAE who is in my class so that I do not have to go alone. During orientation we watched the cheesy come-to-our-university video that they show you every time that you go to a college. We got our schedule and got a tour of the school and area which is very nice and has one of the very best business schools in England. Once that was over we were supposed to go back to London Center for a meeting. One of the Arcadia staff, Emily, who has lived in London for 7 years, gave us directions not by Tube, but by bus to get there, but we did not have to use them, she led us there.  I really feel that I am learning my way around and I a feel comfortable here.
When we got off the Tube later we realized that we were right by a mobile store and we went in. The five of us got mobiles. Mine was 5 GBP and although it is not the nicest, it will do. I can call international if i have to and I can call my friends locally. This is necessary after we lost Grace at the British Museum  but we found her, do not worry. We then decided that we really wanted to go to a pub. This was a long and frustrating process. We first went down to the down the street, but it looked fancy and we were too intimidated to go in, so Dennis found one nearby in his guidebook and we walked to that one. That one was decorated for Christmas and was a Thai place that apparently had a pub in it but as it looked even more fancy than the last one, we stood around for a while and then turned back around and went back to the first one. We then chickened out again and then after getting back to Palace we decided that we could never go back to Champions and mustered the courage to find a different one. We walked down one of the main streets nearby where we shop frequently and found one. It had a sign explaining pub etiquette, which was one of our main fears. So, we went inside, ordered some drinks(do not worry, I got water), sat down and then ordered some fish and chips(my one and only time this trip). it was wonderful and we all enjoyed it. We then went to an American milkshake restaurant so that some of them good get some milkshakes(which were apparently really good). Now I am sitting in the lounge with everyone watching the movie Notting Hill; an excellent end to the day.
