On Our Own

Sammy's on my desk
This morning, like every morning, I woke up and started feeling peckish(that is a British word that I learned today). So, once my roommates and I got up we saw that there was no food so we left the house and wondered out into London in search of a Tesco(that is a grocery store). There we got some basic stuff: cereal, bananas, yogurt, and water. Side note: The yogurt I got was delicious, it actually tasted like strawberries and I knew every ingredient on the label.

Our kitchen, which is very cute and has an electric kettle!

Our main activity for the day though was learning how to take the Tube and getting to the London Center(which is where we are taking classes). Phillip showed us how to get there and the area surrounded it and then we had some meetings. In between the meetings though we were on our own for a few hours. During the first one we went and had lunch at this really good restaurant that fabulous, but healthy foods. I got green curry with chicken and rice and some beans. On the second outing we, well I since I am apparently the leader in our little groups since I have a good sense of direction, memory, and can read maps, went to the British Museum and saw the mummies, Rosetta Stone, and other stuff. The museum is free and we had two hours to do as we wished. After getting our class schedule we made our way home, alone, on the Tube. Later we are going to go out to eat, buy food, and maybe mobile(another new word) phones. Many people in the group are getting them and we really need them to communicate with one another, but we will see if I get one, maybe later. I really feel like I am getting to know my way around, though the British Museum is the only tourist-y  spot I have been too. We are going to be busy the next few days but I hope to see more.
